नवी दिल्ली, १९ मार्च: माजी सरन्यायाधीश रंजन गोगोई यांनी गुरुवारी राज्यसभेच्या सदस्यत्वाची शपथ घेतली. दोन दिवसांपूर्वीच राष्ट्रपती रामनाथ कोविंद यांनी रंजन गोगोई यांची राज्यसभेवर नियुक्ती केली होती. रंजन गोगोई यांच्या नियुक्तीवरून काँग्रेसने केंद्र सरकारवर जोरदार टीका केली होती. गुरुवारी याच विरोधाचा भाग म्हणून काँग्रेस आणि बहुजन समाज पक्षाच्या राज्यसभेतील खासदारांनी शपथविधीवेळी सभात्याग केला. कम्युनिस्ट पक्ष, डीएमके आणि एमडीएमकेनेही या नियुक्तीला विरोध केला आहे.

दरम्यान, शपथविधीच्या वेळी काँग्रेसच्या खासदारांनी राज्यसभेत शेम-शेमच्या घोषणा दिल्या. यावेळी रंजन गोगोई यांनी दिलेलं उत्तर सध्या राजकीय वर्तुळात चांगलंच गाजत आहे. जेव्हा त्यांना विरोध करण्यात आला तेव्हा ते म्हणाले की, ‘लवकरच ते माझं स्वागत करतील’. त्यांचा तो आत्मविश्वास पाहून अनेकांनी त्यांचा कौतुक केलं. काँग्रेससह इतर विरोधी पक्षांनी गोगोई यांच्या नियुक्तीला न्यायपालिकेच्या स्वातंत्र्यावर हल्ला म्हणत टीका केली जात आहे. सोमवारी राष्ट्रपती रामनाथ कोविंद यांनी राज्यसभेतील सदस्यपदासाठी गोगोईंचे नाव ठरविले होते.

रंजन गोगोई यांच्या नियुक्तीवर सर्वोच्च न्यायालयातील माजी न्यायाधीशांनी टीका केली होती. माजी न्यायाधीश मदन लोकूर, ए के पटनाईक, कुरिअन जोसेफ यांनी या नियुक्तीबद्दल नाराजी व्यक्त केली आहे. त्याचवेळी स्वतः रंजन गोगोई यांनी आपल्या नियुक्तीचे समर्थन केले आहे. कायदे मंडळ आणि न्याय मंडळाने यांनी एकत्र मिळून काम केले पाहिजे, यासाठीच मी ही जबाबदारी स्वीकारली असल्याचे रंजन गोगोई यांनी सांगितले.
