निर्भयाच्या गुन्हेगारांच्या फाशीची तारीख ठरली; चौथ्यांदा जारी केलं डेथ वॉरंट

नवी दिल्ली : संपूर्ण देश हादरवणाऱ्या निर्भया गँगरेप केसमधील दोषींना अखेर 20 मार्चला सकाळी 5.30 ला फाशी देण्याचं ठरलं आहे. कोर्टाने चौथ्यांदा डेथ वॉरंट जारी केलं आहे. याआधी तीन वेळा फाशीची तारीख आणि वेळ निश्चित झाल्यानंतर दोषींपैकी कुणी ना कुणी कोर्टाची दारं ठोठावत राहिल्यामुळे डेथ वॉरंट रद्द झालं होतं. तीन वेळा रद्द झाल्यानंतर आता चौथ्या वेळी कोर्टाने वॉरंट जारी केलं आहे. यावेळी दोषींची फाशी अटळ असल्याचं बोललं जात आहे.

त्यानंतर या डेथ वॉरंटवर प्रतिक्रिया देताना दोषींचे वकील ए पी सिंह यांनी, ‘दोषींची चार वेळा न्यायिक हत्या झालेली आहे. अजून किती वेळा दोषींची हत्या होणार?’ असा प्रश्न विचारत भावनिक साद घातली. ‘हा काही दहशतवादाचं प्रकरण नाही आणि दोषी तुरुंगात राहून सुधारणा करत होते’ असंही सिंह यांनी यावेळी म्हटलं. उल्लेखनीय म्हणजे, अद्यापही कायदेशीर पर्याय बाकी असल्याचा दावा दोषींचे वकील ए पी सिंह यांनी केलाय.

दिल्लीत २०१२ मध्ये मेडिकलला शिकणाऱ्या एका महाविद्यालयीन तरुणीवर सामूहिक बलात्कार करण्यात आला. तिचा लैंगिक छळ करण्यात आला. तिला मारहाण करुन विवस्त्र अवस्थेत फेकूनही देण्यात आले. १६ डिसेंबर २०१२ ला घडलेल्या या घटनेमुळे सगळा देश हादरला होता. या मुलीला रुग्णालयात दाखल करण्यात आलं. त्यानंतर पुढील उपचारांसाठी सिंगापूरलाही नेण्यात आलं. मात्र २९ डिसेंबर २०१२ ला निर्भयाचा मृत्यू झाला. यानंतर या प्रकरणातील सहा आरोपींना अटक करण्यात आली. २०१३ च्या मार्च महिन्यात सहापैकी पाच आरोपींना कोर्टाने फाशीची शिक्षा सुनावली. हायकोर्टाने २०१४ मध्ये या आरोपींची फाशी कायम ठेवली. तर मे २०१७ मध्ये सुप्रीम कोर्टानेही ही फाशी कायम ठेवली.
