कोरोना आपत्तीवर योग्य निर्णय...मेल, एक्स्प्रेस, पॅसेंजर ट्रेन ३१ मार्चपर्यंत बंद

मुंबई, २२ मार्च : कोरोनाच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर रविवारी मध्यरात्रीपासून मालवाहतूक वगळता सर्व प्रवासी वाहतूक तूर्त बंद राहणार आहे. ३१ मार्चपर्यंत लांब पल्ल्याची रेल्वे वाहतूक रद्द करण्यात आल्याची माहिती रेल्वे प्रशासनाने दिली आहे. रेल्वेने घेतलेला हा निर्णय देशाची वाटचाल लॉकडाऊनच्या दिशेने होताना दिसते आहे. यापूर्वी कोरोना विषाणूच्या वाढत्या संक्रमणामुळे अनेक ट्रेन रद्द करण्याचा निर्णय घेण्यात आला होता. मात्र, दिवसेंदिवस देशातील कोरोनाग्रस्तांचा आकडा वाढत असल्यामुळे रेल्वे प्रशासनाने मोठे पाऊल उचलत संपूर्ण रेल्वे सेवा बंद ठेवण्याचा निर्णय घेतला आहे.

कोरोना व्हायरस देशभर पसरू नये, म्हणून केंद्र सरकारने वाहतूक व्यवस्था बंद करण्याचा निर्णय घेतल्याचं दिसत आहे. मात्र कोरोनाने सध्या साऱ्या जगात धुमशान घातले आहे. भारतातही मोठ्या वेगाने हा विषाणू पसरत आहे. भारतात कोरोना दुसऱ्या टप्प्यात असला तरी, देशात 300हून अधिक रुग्णांना कोरोनाची लागण झाली आहे. या सगळ्यात केंद्रीय आरोग्य विभागाचा एक धक्कादायक रिपोर्ट समोर आला आहे. यामध्ये सध्या रुग्णालयांमध्ये 84 हजार भारतीयांसाठी एक बेड, तर, 36 हजार भारतीयांसाठी एक क्वारंटाईन बेड आहे. कोरोनाव्हायरसने थैमान घातल्यानंतर सरकारच्या वतीने ही आकडेवारी गोळा करण्यात आली. काही राज्यांमध्ये तर 11 हजार 600 भारतीयांसाठी एकच डॉक्टर असणार आहे.

देशभरात करोनाग्रस्तांची संख्या झपाट्यानं वाढू लागली आहे. त्यातच महानगरांमधून गावी जाणाऱ्या लोकांनी रेल्वेमध्ये मोठी गर्दी केली आहे. शिवाय आता रेल्वे प्रवाशांमध्येही करोनाचे रूग्ण आढळून आले आहेत. त्या पार्श्वभूमीवर हा निर्णय घेण्यात आला आहे.

रेल्वे मंत्रालयानं या संदर्भात काढलेल्या पत्रकानुसार, आतापर्यंत करोना व्हायरस रोखण्यासाठी करण्यात आलेल्या प्रयत्नांचा एक भाग म्हणून रविवारी मंध्यरात्रीपासून ३१ मार्चपर्यंत देशातील सर्व प्रवासी रेल्वे सेवा बंद करण्यात येत आहे. सर्व प्रकारच्या मेल/एक्स्प्रेस आणि इंटरसिटी ट्रेन्स (प्रिमियम ट्रेन्ससह) आणि सर्व पॅसेंजर ट्रेन्स ह्या ३१ मार्चच्या मध्यरात्रीपर्यंत रद्द करण्यात आल्या आहेत.
